Fallout 4 Mahkra Fishpacking synth trap

Fallout 4: giving synths the shaft at Mahkra Fishpacking.

Exploiting Daffy duck-style AI

But first an opinionated rant. There are those who like to play a game just for the fun of it, or who like to play socially and can put it down just as easily as they picked it up. I call these gamers casual players. There are those who play a game to experience the story and explore the world for the first time often without a care about its replay value. I call these gamers average, or normal players. There are those who have to experience all the game has to offer and are generally completionists at heart - searching every nook and cranny for every single God forsaken collectible, or earning every single achievement/trophy, or reaching level 300+ in online rankings. I call these gamers hardcore players. Then there are those who crank the game's difficulty up to max, sit back, and take pride in knowing they're here to experience the game in a way few others will - and for good reason. I call these gamers the masochistic bunch. Mix 1 part badass with 1 part glutton for punishment and 2 parts narcissist, and you have a masochistic player who's idea of a good time is getting kicked in the balls repeatedly in between staring at game over and load screens. Save the occasional gold trophy or 50 point achievement seldom is there any tangible in-game benefit for playing a game in this manner. So if epic bragging rights are a good enough reason for you to attempt playing a game like Fallout 4 on survival difficulty mode then you could use all the ammo conserving tips you can find.

The following video shows how to kill a few synths that are guarding the top of the elevator in Mahkra Fishpacking while only firing one or two shots to get their attention. If you want to get the experience from the kills then be sure to shoot each one at least once before they hit the ground.
See what I mean about Daffy duck-style AI? Like lemmings one after the other because they're path-finding protocols suck. So here's to you survival mode players (or pretty much anyone who wants to conduct a gravity experiment whilst scoring easy kills), and remember the next time you get spanked by over-powered enemies to say thank you sir. May I have another?
