Here’s a dose of radioactive irony
Let's take an imaginative trip for a second. You worship the farcical god of radioactivity - the atom - in a post apocalyptic world and call yourself the Child of Atom. You discover someone who has been touched by your god wandering in the Boston wasteland and now emanates a bright green radioactive glow (among various other side-effects). Doing what any devout follower would you lock him away in the lamp room of a nearby lighthouse to serve as a glorious beacon, keeping it healthy feeding on the flesh of the occasional traveler who refuses to convert. Along comes a heretic who shoots open the latch to its holding cell thus releasing all of its glory upon you and your nearby guards. Minutes later all is quiet as the demigod whom you revere calmly walks over your corpse back up to its room at the top of the lighthouse. End of trip. Ironic, huh? Watch this vid and see for yourself.
It make take a few tries, but there's nothing quite like watching a group of atomic worshipers get taken down by the Glowing One they've been holding captive. Their gamma guns only keep it healed, so after the fight you will still have to take it down at the top of the lighthouse (a couple of frag mines along the stairwell does wonders). Nevertheless it's a slight bit easier than contending with ~8 cultists and it saves a load of ammo/aids.
Taking Kingsport Lighthouse was never easier and the top of the lighthouse serves as a great sniper roost for clearing out the remaining CoA from the nearby crater (shoot the combat inhibitor on the back of the gun turrets to make the process even easier).
